What instantly comes to your mind when you read ‘Transforming Yourself’ & that too from ‘Caterpillar to Butterfly’?
Is there any connection between these two phrases? Let’s explore.
Introduction to Transformation of Caterpillar to Butterfly – A Journey of Growth
Nature has given us numerous creatures which are actually our ‘teachers in disguise’. Have you ever visited the Garden of beautiful flowers? Did you notice that beautiful butterflies fly in the premises & over the flowers? Of Course, You must have! And together they change the environment and feelings of onlookers. But this beautiful creature did not become so, overnight. The journey of becoming a Butterfly from Caterpillar is full of struggles and this process of their transformation is called Metamorphosis.

Metamorphosis is commonly known as the path the butterflies take in order to fully bloom when it was a Caterpillar. Not all Caterpillars become Butterflies. Only those who have the Imaginal Cells, also called the blue-print of becoming a Butterfly, goes through this process. When this caterpillar feels that now everything is over, it’s the end now, from there its new beginning starts, i.e. the process of Transformation or a step towards becoming the best version.
How beautiful it is for the people on the outside, they only see the results – fully transformed, i.e. Changing from Ordinary to Extraordinary or from Plain to Beautiful. But how do we, as individuals, undergo our own Metamorphosis?
How to become the best version of yourself?

Becoming the best version of yourself is a lifelong journey of self-improvement, growth, and resilience. So, embrace the change by accepting new challenges, overcoming obstacles, and nurturing a positive mindset. With dedication and self-awareness, you can unlock your true potential and create a life that genuinely reflects your abilities.
Like a Caterpillar, we too have the power to transform / change & become the best version of ourselves.
STEPS for Transforming Yourself and Embracing Change
Before moving forward I want you to ask yourself, these two Questions:
- Am I willing to step out of my comfort zone ?
- Am I interested in cultivating a growth-oriented mindset ?
- Every day is a chance to step closer to the best version of yourself. Will you take the first step today?
If you answered in ‘YES’, then follow the following steps:
Stop looking at others:
Every time we work on self, the very next thought that comes to our mind is ‘He/She has not yet changed his/her behaviour. He is elder to me, senior to me, first he must do this’. Thinking about others, their behaviour or traits, their actions, etc. drain yours energy not theirs.
Also ‘you’ have decided to become yours best version not ‘they’ and like a Caterpillar it needs hard work. Hard work to perform inner journey. “Like a Butterfly Emerging from its Cocoon, a Growth Mindset Can Change Your Life”.
So, the best version of yourself isn’t found in someone else’s life. It’s built through your own journey, one step at a time.
Focusing on Yourself:

Like a Caterpillar, you also have everything that are needed for your best version, so start looking within yourself and try to identify the hidden Unique Qualities you have. You have to carve them out. And it needs a Deep Introspection and the Spiritual Power that will bring them up. This all is possible with Easy Meditation that is discussed at the end.
You also have a list of good traits and qualities that have brought you here i.e. where you currently are. Today’s problem is that if we are said to make a list of our Qualities and Weaknesses, we don’t find any such in ourselves but if same exercise is asked for others, we could make the list very easily. This is because we have never visited our True Self. We have never given time to ourselves. Identifying your True Self or Innate Qualities is a Self-Motivation process. This is sometimes also called as ‘Process of Amplifying your Strength’.
Just make a clear Growth Mindset. It will fuel Personal Transformation. Moreover, a flower doesn’t bloom by watching the one next to it instead it grows by reaching for the sun. So, stop looking at others and start focusing on your own growth.
Identifying what needs to change:
Since you are now on the journey to become your best version, you have to work on your weaknesses also. Identify if there are any behavioural traits in you that are holding you back, abstaining you from accelerating in life. ‘This’ actually is your ‘illness’ that needs to be treated, don’t make it your Comfort Zone.
Suppose if any physical illness is not timely treated it will transform to an incurable disease and that will kill us not others. Likewise, my weaknesses are to be cured by me and that too within the time. As soon as we realize that this behaviour of mine is an obstacle to my growth then that is the right time for its treatment i.e. to work on our behaviour.
But there are certain Barriers to this process, let’s discuss:
- “ When everything fails, my this behaviour works for the things to be done, so I can’t fully change my behaviour”
- “I am a nice person but due to others behaviour I usually react like this. If they stop doing that I will not react like this”
- “My Thoughts. I can’t control or command them”

Overcoming these Barriers
- This is our wrong psychology that “When everything fails, my this behaviour works”. Instead this makes our weaknesses more strong. Changing self is not the overnight process and so is its result. When you decide not to act in the way you used to act in past you won’t see positive reaction, immediately. It takes time. But world is noticing you and slowly & steadily there behaviour towards you will take a right turn. The end-result is really very beautiful. Also a Growth Mindset never complains others but focuses on Self.
Just think of the Caterpillar, it also endured the pain, that nobody outside knows about.
- This problem that “….due to others behaviour I usually react like this“ occurs only if you have not focused on STEP-1. Always keep in mind that their behaviour & actions will transform them not me. Also this tendency reflects the nature of Dependency. Even if they change themselves you will find another reason to stay behind.
Then how can you make yourself the best version of yourselves?
- Know the power of your thoughts. Thoughts has an important role in Self Transformation. Either they could rise us or fall us in our carrier or life. The problem that “I can’t control or command my thoughts“ is the lack of Controlling Power of the Mind. Let’s discuss it in next step of Self-Transformation.
Guide your Mind like a Child:
Thoughts dwell in your Mind. The function of Mind is Thinking, Thinking & Thinking. But mind doesn’t know what type of thinking harms you and what type of thinking elevates you. It’s you who has to guide, redirect or control all these.
Like, a child is not left all alone, we always keep an eye on him, same way our mind always need a Pilot who could instruct it, which way to go.
With Patience and Consistent practice you can train your mind to stay focused on what’s important i.e. (here) it’s Your Transformation – Your Growth. A Growth Mindset surely reflects Transformation.
Practice Meditation:
To overcome all barriers you need to empower yourself. An empowered being never let others to overpower him. An empowered person can only guide his Mind to move in right direction otherwise mostly the Mind overpowers.
And the best way to empower self is – Easy Meditation.

Meditation is a medicine that heals & empowers the Soul, the being, i.e. me. In our busy schedule it has become the need for all of us to practice Easy Mediation for at least 10-15 minutes a day, regularly. Daily Meditation helps in focusing on our True Self and thus makes your journey, towards the best version of yourself, easy and enjoyable.
